The Luck of the Irish

 In all my 36 years of life I have YET to find a four leaf clover while searching in a clover patch.

I remember as a kid going camping and that was one of the first adventures my brother and I would get ourselves into...Seeing who could find one first. To be honest I do not remember either of us finding one but I am sure Josh would say he did. I know I never did!

A few years back while taking our family camping I started the "Clover Tradition" with our girls. As soon as camp was set up and ready we began the hunt for that hidden four leaf clover. It brought me right back to feeling like a kid again.

Here we were, sitting down in a clover patch searching and searching...I was determined to find one after all these years and before I knew it I heard "MOM - DAD I found one!"

Yep, sure enough Mazie came running over with that hidden four leave clover! She was beaming from ear to ear SO excited she had actually found one. It wasn't more then two seconds later and I hear "MOM-DAD I found one!" This time it was Madie who came running over.

I couldn't believe my eyes...here after all these years of searching with still no luck and my two beautiful daughter who had only been searching for 15 min each found one!

This started the challenge for both of them to continue the hunt for more. You may not believe this but after several searches the girls ended up finding not 1 or 2 but 5 four leaf clovers that day.

As a mom I was so excited to share in this moment and new tradition of clover hunting with them. Now every time we see a clover patch that is the first thing we have to do!

The story doesn't end there...

Just a few days ago while enjoying some time out in the sun at a spray park we found ourselves sitting right by a clover patch. You guessed it before getting wet, the girls started the hunt.

It didn't take them long before BAM they each found one - Mazie a four leaf and Madie a five leaf clover (I didn't even know there could be such a thing).

I may not have found my own 4 or 5 leaf clover but as a mom I feel very lucky to have been blessed with not 1 or 2 but three beautiful little clovers of my own!!

I have the Luck of the Irish...clover or not!
